Elizabeth and Harry wed at Roche Harbor Resort and the couple chose to let their venue’s natural beauty shine by choosing a neutral palette of ivory, blush and gold that wouldn’t detract from the architecture and decor of the resort. Elizabeth’s love for stationery and calligraphy drew her to a special DIY element of taking the time to illustrate the map inserts for the couple’s invitations. / Images by Huoy Chen Photography, submitted via Matchology.
Says Elizabeth, “I had known I wanted to get married on San Juan Island since vacationing there with family and seeing how beautiful the island was! I wanted to embrace getting married in such a pretty setting so my goal was to just enhance that.
How did you meet? Harry and I both went to Texas A&M for college and knew of each other then but didn’t officially meet until later in Houston when we were both out with friends one night! One of the friends I was with was dating (and is now married to) one of Harry’s good friends and he invited Harry to come. Harry claims he wasn’t actually planning to go out that night but when he heard I was going to be there, changed his mind! We started dating a few weeks later!
Our favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle together as husband and wife – it was such a happy moment and was so special with all of our friends and family there!
Love Story | I have the sweetest mother-in-law who let Harry use her birthday as a cover-up for the proposal! Harry told me we were going to dinner for his mom’s birthday but we were going to take family pictures beforehand for his parents Christmas Card. When we got to the park where the family photos were going to be taken he told me his parents were running late and asked me if I wanted to take a walk around the park. As we were walking around the park he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
We wanted to make sure our guests had a great time! We chose to skip things that traditionally interrupt the band, like the bouquet/garter toss or having everyone gather around us to cut the cake, so that the dance party didn’t die down until it was time to call it a night!“
