Says Sarah, “Both Mitchell and I wanted a beautiful church wedding and for our reception to be classic, elegant, southern style. We both wanted a spring wedding so the colors were based off of the time of year, the wedding being in the evening, therefore, more formal.
Proposal story? Mitchell proposed to me on my parents’ farm in Franklin, Tenn. It was very special for the both of us as that was the home where I grew up and the land that we someday hope to build our own future home on.
The bridal bouquet included white roses, ranunculus, stock, anemones, veronica, and other small white floral accents, along with a variety of eucalyptus and other greenery.
The men all wore black tuxes and Mitchell changed into a white dinner jacket for the reception. The bridesmaid dresses were classic and elegant by designer Alfred Sung. Both my earrings and veil were worn by my Mother during her wedding. It was very important and sentimental to me that I also get to wear the veil and earrings.
The most important things for us when planning our wedding besides the actual marriage preparation classes with the church were a good live band with great music and an amazing photographer. We were very fortunate that we were able to have both of those things. Our photographer, Erin Lee Allender, was one of the best parts of our wedding and the whole process! Both my twin sister and I used Erin and absolutely loved working with her and were extremely pleased with the quality of photos that she was able to capture for us.
My family is Italian, so our wedding favors were Italian Jordan Almonds. There were 5 almonds in each bag which symbolized: health, wealth, happiness, family and a long life.
Favorite memories? Picking one favorite part of the day would be really tough. The whole day was an absolutely wonderful experience. Beyond Mitchell and I becoming married and getting to start our lives together, we absolutely loved having all of our family and friends in one location to celebrate our marriage with us.
