Thursday’s Wedding Party Welcome
Says Kerri, “All of our wedding party, along with many family members and guests traveled to the island on Thursday. With many guests on island (50 to be exact!), we wanted to provide an event to kick off the weekend for those early arrivers! Cookouts have always been a tradition in the Bride’s family and one of the groom’s most favorite activities when it came to spending time with the Connolly’s so, we figured what better way to welcome everyone than a good old cookout following an afternoon at Cisco Brewery!
We hosted a Cocktail and Cookout gathering in the White Elephant Easy Street Loft, and the food was catered by Brant Point Grill. This space was the most perfect blend of luxury with warmth and really gave our guests their first taste of the wedding weekend! We had the chance to catch up with some of our closest guests over burgers and hot dogs, and danced the night away to a Spotify playlist!
Friday Rehearsal Luncheon:
When thinking about the rehearsal, we knew we really wanted to have an event for all of our guests on Friday, not just those included in the Rehearsal. It is because of this that we came up with the idea of a Rehearsal Luncheon with a Welcome Reception that evening for all guests! Following the noontime rehearsal at St. Mary’s, guests were transported by Cranberry Transportation all the way to the iconic Wauwinet hotel. After arriving at this remote haven, known as the Wauwinet, guests were greeted with a mimosa to walk through the hotel and appreciate the breathtaking views on this gorgeous spring Nantucket day. After enjoying cocktails on the lawn, guests were then welcomed into the dining room for a quaint and delicious lunch. Since our best man was a life-long friend of the groom, and the maid of honor was the bride’s sister, we chose to have two friends, Tom and Kelsey, speak at the rehearsal to give different perspective.
Friday Welcome Drink:
After being transported back to the White Elephant, everyone changed and prepared for the welcome drink. We all walked together and grabbed a quick mudslide at the Gazebo, as it had just opened for the season that day, and has close proximity to the Club Car. With more guests than anticipated, we completely took over The Club Car! Their staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, even with the impromptu 160 guests overflowing their lovely, recently redesigned, and beautifully decorated space! With a custom drink menu, featuring a signature cocktail, guests could not have been more thrilled to have made it to Nantucket! Each guest was given a drink ticket in their welcome box to provide entry for this event. The custom drink ticket displayed the wedding monogram and address of The Club Car.”
