This gorgeous cream & teal Olympia Monica typewriter dates back to around the 1950s or 60s and was made in Germany. I found this typewriter in a small town market in Germany.
The typewriter is in excellent vintage condition. There a few small dings in the paint and there is some slight discoloration on the body of the typewriter (as you can see in the photos) from normal aging but overall, it’s in very good condition. The keys are working except for the “Q” and the symbol key on the top right corner so if you’ll be looking to use this machine to type a novel, you would probably want to have it conditioned by a repairman. The return bell still works and lets out a delightful ring. The typewriter measures approximately 13″ wide, 12″ deep and 5.5″ high.
The typewriter comes with its original hard carrying case which still works (shown in the last photo of this post). The case has some discoloring from age and use.
Note: Because this is a European typewriter, the keys are in a different layout than American typewriters. Also, the typewriter ribbon appears to have dried out a bit so it will probably need to be replaced with a fresh universal ribbon to produce crisp letters (super easy to find on Amazon!).
