Favorite moment? I think we can both agree that our favorite moment was when we were pronounced husband and wife, shared a kiss, and were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Gregory Valentine. There is no cooler feeling than standing up on that altar looking out at a crowd of all your family and friends, people who traveled from near and far for no other reason than to celebrate you and your love. Something like that only happens once in your life. We made sure to pause and really soak that moment up. Henderson and Brad’s Love Story | Brad and I met at Pauley’s Crepe Bar in Athens, Ga., when I was a senior at the University of Georgia and he was a recent graduate of UGA’s Law School. We didn’t go on our first date until almost a year later, but we knew immediately that there was something special there. Fast forward three and a half years to Thanksgiving week 2016 – Brad proposed under the Chapel Bell on UGA’s campus and surprised me with both of our families waiting on us at his (now our) home in Athens.
Advice? I would definitely advise brides to enjoy the process. A lot goes into planning a wedding, and it can be stressful. This is the most exciting time of your life, though, and it can really fly by. Savor every moment. I would also say that hiring a wedding planner (specifically Shelly Fortune) was absolutely one of the best decisions I made throughout the planning process. If it fits within your budget, a fantastic wedding planner is a must.
