Classic Blue and White Chappaquiddick Wedding

Classic Blue and White Chappaquiddick Wedding

Allie and Thomas both grew up with special ties to Martha’s Vineyard so it was an easy choice for them to have a Vineyard wedding. The couple tied the knot at Chappaquiddick Beach Club followed by a tented reception at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown. Plan it Martha’s Vineyard and Flowers on the Vineyard created an exquisite space dotted by blue and white hydrangeas nestled in ginger jars. / Images by Jocelyn Filley.

Says Allie, “Thomas grew up going to Chappaquiddick and I spent time in Edgartown when I was younger and it is where we first discovered our mutual love for being on the water. As soon as we started wedding planning, we knew we wanted to include the Chappaquiddick Beach Club in our wedding and have all of our friends and family experience it for themselves.

My grandparents were unfortunately unable to make it to the wedding as it was too far of a trip from St. Louis. But I was able to wear a pearl bracelet that had been worn by all women in my family when they got married. It made me feel like they were there with me.

The designer of my dress, Ines di Santo, was the same designer my sister used just a year earlier for her wedding. I met with Ines at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and she helped me create a custom dress. I completely trusted Ines with creating the perfect dress!

Favorite memories? The ceremony. We wanted our ceremony to be unique and a reflection of us. Our officiant, Tim, is a lifelong friend and mentor who shares our admiration for Chappy. We felt that Tim’s magnetic personality and strong understanding of our relationship made him the obvious choice. The ceremony was personal and intimate and exceeded both of our expectations.

Our rehearsal dinner was also a highlight. It was a lobster bake at the Chappaquiddick Beach Club and had a very relaxed vibe, I even wore a jean jacket!

Allie & Thomas’ Love Story | Thomas and I met in college and had been dating for seven years before he proposed in the summer of 2016.

We chose to have donuts from one of our favorite bakeries on the Vineyard for our dessert and decided to skip the cake cutting so we could ensure our guests could keep on dancing without any interruptions! Allie’s advice? Trust your vendors!
