I’ve rounded up a few of my top favorite holiday gifts for babies and mamas alike and am so excited to share them with you today! Most are personalized and/or handcrafted because those always feel more meaningful and special to me. Hope this guide gives you some fun ideas for your holiday shopping!
Faux Taxidermy Felt Heads (c/o) by Heartfelt Creations
Once upon a time not so very long ago, I had super heavy antique candle holders flanking W’s crib (see here). They looked gorgeous but as W began to be more mobile, they started to worry me so I knew it was time to find a safer, child-friendly option. And I certainly did that with these adorably (soft!) faux taxidermy felt heads by Heartfelt Creations! I seriously can’t get over how cute they are and I love looking over at them while I’m snuggling W in his nursery glider. I could go on and on about how whimsical they are and how I feel they will inspire adventures and storytelling and make-believe but I have to stop for a second to also tell you that these beauties are handmade so expertly with such precise attention to detail. Beverly White, the shop proprietress, was the kindest person to work with and when the moose (c/o) and elephant (c/o) arrived, I was so taken by how well-crafted they were. She also attaches a sturdy hook on the backs for easy hanging. While I love the sweet duo we chose, Beverly also creates a menagerie of other furry friends. A few of my favorites are the ram, alpaca, flamingo (this would be so cute for a little girl’s Palm Beach themed nursery!), giraffe and rhino. A truly wonderful gift that can grow with the littles from a nursery to a playroom to a big boy or girl bedroom.
It’s a little nuts how quickly toys start accumulating with a little one. W is only 14 months but it seems like he has enough toys to share with the whole town! To try and avoid a nursery littered with toys, I decided to look for some chic personalized storage options. I love this handmade canvas toy bin (c/o) from Design by Rube. It’s fully lined with French seam detailing, features leather handles and is made of 100% cotton canvas so it’s super durable. My favorite part is the custom leather label that reads “W’S TOYS.” I told Madara, the shop proprietress, that I wanted some personalization but wasn’t sure what would be best. I really love what she came up with – it’s both subtle and classic. And a few years down the road, I think we’ll easily be able to turn the toy label to the back and use this as a clothes hamper for W.
Boy’s Christmas Longalls (c/o)
It’s so fun to pick out Christmas outfits for W and I’m excited to have him wear these for the holidays. I think I probably ordered them a little too big but here’s hoping we’ll get two years of use out of them! The monogrammed red corduroy longall with plaid trim (c/o) by Bridget Delaney Design is perfectly classic and I think it will be our go-to for holiday parties. Bridget is always wonderful to work with and this shipped so quickly I could hardly believe it! While the red is sold out, there are still some adorable navy and plaid longalls available in her shop!
And I’m obsessed with the super cute smocked Jon Jon (c/o) by Pleats and Stitches. I think this will be the perfect outfit for W the first time we go to the Christmas tree farm as a family. The smocking is beautiful and I love the gingham buttons and lining. Kristen was really sweet to work with and I highly recommend both of these cute shops for clothing for little ones.
Nautical Baby Booties (c/o) by Shoes by Susie
Now that W is officially a walker, I’ve been buying shoes left and right and I love these soft slip-on nautical booties (c/o) by Shoes by Susie. They are made by hand and can be worn with socks or bare feet and the stretchy elastic makes it easy to put them on. I especially love that the interior sole is lined with faux sherpa and the exterior sole is faux suede – the perfect house shoe! W has been wearing these to his weekly playgroup and around the house. Susie offers a great range of adorable designs including giraffes on bicycles, another anchor design, lobstahs (!!!) and these cute little deer.
Plaid Christmas pajamas (c/o) by Little Me
No Christmas would be complete without a pair of tartan pj’s! We decided to go with the same pattern and brand as last year and ordered W these Christmas pajamas (c/o) by Little Me. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this timeless pattern – it just makes me want to grab a hot cocoa and nestle in by the fire. While I know these are often referred to as Christmas morning pajamas, I can’t wait that long! Here he is checking out his new teepee:
Monogrammed moccasins and pacifiers (c/o) by Chessa Creations
Monogrammed pajama pants (c/o) and fleece ear warmers (c/o)
Warm and cozy gifts are always my favorites for winter and these pretty in pink monogrammed striped pajama pants (c/o) by Amy Grace Monograms are a cheery present bound to put a smile on any mama’s face. I love how the white ribbon trim echoes the style and color of monogram I chose. Loving these seersucker pj pants, too!
As the colder months set in, I try to take W for walks as often as the weather permits in order to get a little sunshine and this monogrammed fleece headband/ear warmers (c/o) by Sew Diva Shop is the perfect answer to keeping my ears warm and toasty and cute!
This comfy bedrest pillow is more of a family gift since everyone enjoys using it. I had been looking for an attractive style in this type of pillow and fell in love with this sherpa pillow from Target. I asked Oh Sew Lovely Designs to add a monogrammed ‘G’ (c/o) and I love how much that subtle personalization adds to the pillow. They also offer a beautiful selection of other monogramming services including napkins (check out the gorgeous monogrammed napkins they did for Gresham’s Nantucket wedding!), blankets, robes and much more. Some great ideas for holiday gifts for your bridesmaids!
