Says Jill, “The Inn is situated on the same island Alex’s family have a summer home. He has been coming to Maine for nearly 20 years. We wanted to show our friends and family how special coastal Maine is. The style of the wedding was whimsical, romantic and classic. Many of the guests wore black tie and the juxtaposition of that formality against the rustic Maine backdrop was stunning.
How did you know you had found your dress? I had gone to three different dress stores and tried on countless dresses. I had zero preconceived notions about what I wanted so I was open to everything. But nothing was feeling like ‘me.’ At Monique Lhuillier, I tried many form fitting, strapless dresses. I finally went against the grain with a delicate strapped A-line gown. The minute it was zipped, I knew it was perfect for me and our location. It was so light and airy with just the slightest blush undertones. I felt like a princess. For my bouquet my florist tied vintage ribbons around the stems including part of my childhood blanket. I ran my fingers across it throughout the ceremony. Jill & Alex’s Love Story | Alex and I met at the University of Delaware. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. We were both participating in a Greek event and a mutual friend introduced us. However, we met in his last few weeks of school but luckily he got a job near school and we continued to date through my time in college. After I graduated, Alex moved to London and we did long distance for 3 years! It was hard to be away from each for so long but it has made our relationship so much stronger.
Jill’s advice? Take every moment in! Splurge on the extra hours of photo and video coverage. You will want to be able to look back and relive it all!
The couple honeymooned along Italy’s Amalfi Coast and Santorini, Greece.

Favorite memories? Oh gosh, there were so many! Before the day even began, the night before we had a classic New England lobster bake. It allowed all the guests to get to meet each other before the big day. Everyone stayed up hanging out by the fire. It was a great kickoff to the weekend. As for the day, getting ready with my girls and my family was so comforting and lovely. I truly felt special. Our reception was so much fun, everyone was up and dancing and having the best time. And our sparkler send-off was icing on the cake of a perfect day.
