Says Casey, “We chose Cottage on the Creek because it sits right on the beautiful Shem Creek. We wanted a more intimate space on the water and Cottage on the Creek was perfect. A dolphin swam by when we went to check it out and we were sold!
I knew I found my dress because it was simple, comfortable, and it had pockets! I didn’t want lace or beading so that really narrowed it down.
My favorite memories of the day are seeing my husband for the first time during our first look, signing the marriage papers on the third floor of the venue overlooking Shem Creek, sneaking away with my husband to eat some gelato outside, and dancing the night away with our families!
Casey & Kyle’s Love Story | Kyle and I met in Tulsa, Okla., where we were both studying to get our MBAs. Kyle was born and raised in Oklahoma and I grew up in upstate New York. We both always wanted to live by the ocean which is how we ended up in Charleston! We make each other laugh and treat every step in life as an adventure. We’re each other’s best friend.
My mom and family made all of our centerpieces. Each had a unique theme and was handmade out of real wood. They were beautiful and a lot of family got to take one home with them and now we see them displayed in their homes every time we visit!
Casey’s advice? Enjoy the moments! Don’t stress about the small stuff or even the big stuff! The things you will remember are the moments you share with your new spouse and your family. You will miss some of those if you are too worried about everything going perfectly (because it will not!).
