Says Georgia-Leigh, “I tried a number of dresses to try to narrow down the ‘style’ of dress I wanted. I found that ball gowns didn’t really flatter me or fit the ambiance I wanted for the ceremony/ reception. I liked the dress I chose on the hanger but I didn’t fall in love with it until I tried it on. The shape of the dress and the lace were my favorite elements. My mom and I both said ‘oh- that’s it’ at the same time when I tried it on.
I used my grandmother’s vintage sapphire and diamond wedding band and included an heirloom family cameo with my bouquet.
The first look was great because not only do you have lovely pictures to look back on after your wedding day but it is nice to have a chunk of time with your groom before all the celebration with family and friends. We had an amazing band and dancing with family and friends was so much fun!
Georgia-Leigh & Brian’s Love Story | Brian and I met in Washington, DC, where we both work. Our first date was at a wine bar on U street in late December. I had a great time but was leaving the next day to visit my family for the holidays and was thinking I might not hear from him. Lucky for me – I got a text from him that night and the rest is history.
We chose the William Aiken House for the classic surroundings and I loved the double tiered verandas. They also had excellent cuisine.
