Charming Christmas Wedding

Caitlin and Marshall’s charming Christmas wedding felt warm and bright and twinkled plenty in Locust Valley, New York. Says Caitlin, “We wanted a Christmas wedding and where else to do it other than New York! We live in Charleston, South Carolina, so we had a lot of friends that were very excited to start off the holiday celebrations with a trip to New York, as well. I have been going to The Creek Club since I was little and it is perfect for a Christmas wedding with elegant rooms and rolling green hills.

I was dress shopping in Charleston with my parents and pulled one off that rack that My mom was clearly not expecting, judging by her facial expression. It had some interesting detail with subtle sparkle which I knew could be beautiful for a winter wonderland wedding. I tried it on and loved it immediately and my mom slowly understood what look I was going for. It completed the whole theme of the wedding.

Caitlin & Marshall’s Love Story | We were introduced through friends our senior year at College of Charleston. We started dating slowly, but I tried my hardest not to fall as I knew I wanted to go back to New York and start my career in interior design. I slowly understood that the relationship had grown quickly and we were madly in love. We both agreed that we would stay in Charleston after graduating and start our lives together.

We had numerous Christmas trees line the tent and kissing balls were dropped over the dance floor. On our tables we had Christmas crackers that were all popped before dinner and later on Santa made a surprise appearance bearing gifts for all!”Favorite moments? I loved being surrounded by my closest friends and family the most to celebrate all day and all night! The drop in from Santa was a pretty incredible surprise for me and Marshall … we still laugh about it a year later!

Caitlin’s advice? Have fun with the process and don’t stress the day of! The day of I could not care less what I looked like, all I knew was that I wanted to walk down that isle as fast as I could to get married. The rest will all fall into place you just have to sit back and enjoy every moment!

The couple honeymooned in Grenada.
