Editor’s Note: Moore & Giles sponsored this beautiful shoot and I was compensated with product for organizing the shoot and styling it. We love our sponsors and hope you will support them as it’s thanks to them that CB is able to keep running!
I’m so very excited to finally share this playfully preppy tennis love shoot that I styled at a local tennis club in Charlottesville, Va., last fall. You may remember some sneak peeks I shared on Instagram or the recent feature in Southern Bride but today I’m going to share the shoot in its entirety! The shoot began in the late afternoon at the tennis courts and after setting up several fun vignettes and poses, we finished the shoot on the banks of a beautiful lake. A darling little wooden pier made the perfect stage for kisses and sweet embraces. The still water reflected the trees’ changing leaves beautifully as the sunlight slipped away. / Images by Sam Stroud.
With the amazing Sam Stroud behind the lens, I set the scene by styling the models in an ivy-league aesthetic including a mixture of argyle, gingham, seersucker, cashmere and pearls. Carefully chosen props were placed on the tennis court to evoke a collegiate vibe including vintage wooden racquets, antique silver trophies, a well-worn copy of the Preppy Handbook, red French bistro chairs picked up at a brocante along the French border, and a vintage French champagne cooler. Rich and sumptuous leather goods from our partner, Moore & Giles, rounded out the traditional feel. I sourced the vintage wares for the shoot from my personal collection (which means most of the vintage items featured in this shoot are for sale!
