With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought I’d share a fun project you could start on now so you’ll be ready in time! Since December and January are the peak months for engagements, I know many of you are still celebrating (congrats!) and basking in the bride-to-be glow. One of the first fun things you get to do with wedding planning is choosing your bridesmaids (if you decide to go that route). I love the idea of “proposing” to your favorite gals with something creative and beautiful so I put together a “Will you be my Bridesmaid?” box to give you some inspiration on what you could do for your besties – and what better day to pop the question to your gals than Vday?
What to Include:
Shoes. What better way to ask “Will you be my bridesmaid?” than with the pair of heels you’d like her to wear at your wedding? You could include a card with the phrase “if the shoe fits” or “you’re the perfect fit.”
Jewelry. If you’re not going the shoe route, I love the idea of gifting a beautiful piece of jewelry like the insanely gorge Pisa cuff in Moonstone from Margaret Elizabeth Jewelry in my styled box. How could a girl say no to that?
Nail polish. Polish is always appreciated – just get a bottle or two in colors that match the box’s color palette.
Candy. It’s the best (and prettiest) fluffer for gift boxes. I included pink rock candy in this box but you could choose favorite candies and package them in glassine bags with ribbon for an equally polished look.
Paper straws with a pretty drink. Colorful paper straws make any drink that much more festive. My favorite is tying a paper straw to a Sofia by Coppola Blanc de Blancs Mini can – they are always the cutest! You could attach a note that says “cheers to being my Maid of Honor!”
Something unique and vintage. To mix it up, I love including vintage gifts. In this styled box, I included a vintage French turquoise ashtray with retro red lettering. I’ve found vintage ashtrays to be the coolest little containers and I use them throughout the house to hold all sorts of things.
Something fun and silly. Keep it playful with something silly like the heart glasses I included. I picked these up at Target for mere pennies but they are adorable and really add life and cheer to the box!
Need some more inspiration? Check out this post on crafting bridesmaids boxes, too. I have a few more ideas in there. Plus how to create a flower girl gift box!
