A few weeks ago, I shared a tutorial on making organic coconut milk conditioner and today I thought I’d share its sister tutorial: organic castile soap shampoo! If you thought the conditioner was easy-as-pie to make, you’re going to fall over when you see how easy the shampoo is. And if you’re like me and just couldn’t get behind the whole “no ‘poo” trend, I have a feeling you’re going to love this “sorta ‘poo” recipe! You won’t be getting any icky chemicals but you’ll still get to experience the sudsy lather of traditional shampoos – best of both worlds! And this shampoo/conditioner combo would make the cutest addition to bridesmaids’ beauty boxes or welcome baskets for guests!
– 1 part Castile Soap (I used Dr. Bronner’s in Lavender scent)
– 2 parts Water
– Dash of Baking Soda
– Ribbon and tag(s)
Optional: To make your shampoo more moisturizing, add a teaspoon or two of your favorite oil (jojoba would work well!). And if the castile soap you’re using is unscented, just add a few drops of your favorite essential oil!
How to Make Castile Soap Shampoo:
Step 1 | Fill your bottle half-way with castile soap.
Step 4 | If you’re making these as gifts for your bridesmaids or wedding guests, tie a piece of ribbon (that coordinates with your wedding colors) around with a shipping tag and pen a sweet note. Alternatively, you could create custom sticker labels. I attached a rock candy stirrer stick with washi tape for added texture and appeal.
