Happy Halloween! I hope you have some fun plans tonight – I’m dressing up as a fancy cat [meow!] and planning on prowling the town [read: bar hopping] with my husband and some friends. And because the sweet folks at Tarte just recently sent a few fabulous products my way, I thought today would be the perfect day to share them with you, as they worked just perfectly with my kitty cat look but they’re also insanely wonderful for bridal make-up.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the new mascara craze: lash-extending fibers. I’ve been curious so I was excited to try out Tarte’s version: Best in Faux lash-extending fibers.

Lash-extending fiber application

The way it works is you first apply a coat of the primer mascara (lights, camera lashes). Next, apply the lash-extending fibers by lightly moving the wand back and forth over your lashes. Finally, apply one more coat of the primer on top to make sure the fibers adhere and stay put. As of today, I’ve used this mascara duo three times. I love the dramatic effect but I’d be a little nervous to wear this mascara with contacts as I’ve noticed some of the fibers eventually fall off and get in my eyes which is a little irritating and would definitely not be fun with contacts in. Here’s a peek at my lashes [and cat attire] after the application:

I also tried out Tarte’s Maracuja oil and am honestly obsessed. I love using it on my skin and my hair – it’s super nourishing and I feel so hydrated after I use it. It’s rich in essential fatty acids which are “known to recharge and replenish skin.” I think this anti-aging elixir would be a powerful tool in your pre-bridal-makeup-tool-kit. I have it on my skin in the photo above and I feel like it helps to bring a soft glow – love.

I also tried out the Amazonian clay volumizing brow powder [in medium brown] and I don’t think it could work any better. It’s the perfect shade to fill in any sparse areas in your brows. It’s super soft and smooth and the case feels luxe which I like.

Hope you have a fun + safe Halloween. And if you try any of these, I hope you’ll let me know your thoughts! xx.
