So tickled to share some beautiful Italian bridal inspiration with you today – essentially two princesses playing at a stunning private estate along the Adriatic coast with the styling vision of Leontine Ansolini-Lauffer and lovely photos by Anaïs Stoelen.
Says Anaïs, “Leontine organized this shoot and brought together a team of artists at Il Conventino, a private estate in Gradara, Italy, which is a medieval hillside village overlooking the Adriatic coast. The stunning estate has many corridors and we had to make sure all the doors and windows were not left open because birds like to fly inside the rooms. The house has a beautiful landscaped garden with a perfect swimming pool, surrounded by beautiful greens and antique statues. In the top garden near the house, there’s a big eclipsed opening in the wall and there’s really no better place than there to sit and take in the most amazing view overlooking the vineyard. In the distance you can see the coast.
So, with this beautiful setting, a fairy tale was born. Come with us to “Il Conventino,” a big house on the hill, where two princesses ‘principesse’ make up their own rules, running wild and free, playing around … & where little Isabella [Leontine’s daughter!] looks up to her older sister, who’s getting married to her dream prince.”
Says Leontine, “We wanted to show how to create a romantic countryside wedding in an unknown part of Italy. So we decided to go to [Gradara] a little “Borgo” in the hills of Le Marche. We wanted the day to be filled with soft, romantic colors inspired by nature. So we chose soft pink, orange and blue-ish pastels, in combination with seasonal flowers. The day was filled with complete passion and joy as we gave my daughter, the little Isabelle, a role in our inspiration shoot. She wore a little cotton handmade dress I had found at a flea market a year ago… She was running through the old villa, with a lace bedcover playing around as a little princess bare feet…patiently waiting to be part of the shoot.
We kept everything very natural by using the olive branches that grew in the fields next to the villa and some of the ivy we found on the street leading to the house. A good local pastry shop made the vanilla flavored, wild berry macaroons filled with luscious cream. We bought fresh fruits, such as apricots and cherries at the local market, to bring color to the sweet table.
