Our Parisian Inspiration Shoot, p.1 – The Complete Story

Our Parisian Inspiration Shoot, p.1 – The Complete Story As you know from yesterday’s post, I’m over the moon about our feature in Matchbook magazine. Today, I thought I’d share a few more photos and footnotes from our Parisian shoot. It was so much fun to style this shoot and flounce about Paris in my Mom’s beautiful 1960s wedding dress with my love at my side. Even though this was just an inspiration shoot, it completely brought back beautiful memories of our own wedding day.

We started the shoot on an early Sunday morning in October. After rising around 5.30a and slipping into our wedding finery, we walked a few short blocks to the garden behind Notre Dame to meet Juliane Berry, our photographer. She immediately put us both at ease and the rest of the day felt like we were hanging out with a new friend. She is seriously the sweetest and I can’t recommend her enough. Juliane is an American living in Paris so it’s easy to relate and it’s fun hearing her stories about French life.

Juliane took us to the Ile Saint Louis for a few shots and then we headed to the famed Shakespeare and Company bookshop. My husband could literally live in this adorable little shop. He makes it a must that I book us a hotel near this bookstore when we visit Paris so we can visit it every night we’re in town. Unfortunately, the shop was closed in the early morning but we still got a few fun shots with my vintage books outside …

Next, we visited Place Dauphine and had brunch at the charming café, La Rose de France.

After brunch, we headed over to the Pont des Arts …

A visit to Paris is never complete without a visit to Ladurée so we finished up the inspiration shoot with a run to the beautiful pâtisserie on rue Bonaparte …
