My Something Blue

I’ll be wearing a diamond and sapphire ring on my right hand. It’s a family ring I inherited so it has a special meaning and could even double as my Something Old … but I’ll be using a family handkerchief (which we just had embroidered with our married monogram) for that.

Random piece of info: Apparently this ring is similar to Princess Diana’s engagement ring. Fun to know, as she was one of my childhood loves. I even dressed up like her for a biography report in elementary, complete with tiara. ;o)

Still have to figure out my Something Borrowed (from Mom). What’s everyone else ‘borrowing’?

I think all women in our age bracket during the Di years were in love with her. My future sister-in-law chose Diana as her Confirmation name and I bought EVERY magazine she was featured in. 🙂

Anyhow, I imagine your ring is gorgeous. I remember always admiring hers.

My something blue is my late grandmother’s rosary that my mother now has. I would love for my something borrowed to be my grandmother’s cocktail ring, but I don’t know if my mom will give it up for a day!

Ok I was JUST thinking about my “something blue” yesterday (not that my wedding is still not for over a year…) and I decided I want to wear a sapphire and diamond ring that my stepdad gave to my mom. Great minds think alike!

I didn’t even know the Di connection – amazing.

    Cheers! Jen

I’m hopefully going to borrow my mum’s watch as the rest of my outfit is sorted so nothing will be borrowed otherwise!

    ooo gorgeous!
I thought of doing something like that,
(there was a vera wang saphire ring for kohles)
but instead of the saphire ring, I got peridot earrings for an engagement present.

now my something blue is in limbo again.

I love this blog by the way.
This ring is gorgeous and similar to my inspiration – Princess Diana!
My engagement ring is an art deco-style round sapphire surrounded by diamonds (a halo setting) with pave diamonds and cut sapphires on the sides. My “real” something blue is my veil. It’s vintage baby blue French veiling attached to comb and accented with a flower identical to the one on my dress. Very 1950s.

I’m borrowing my mother’s locket that was a gift from my father for their wedding, and my great grandmothers locket that was a wedding gift sometime in the 1910s and has been worn by 6 women in my family at their weddings! I’m excited!

I feel you on the Princess Diana thing- I also dressed up as her for a book report in elementary school! How funny! She was such a fabulous woman.

I borrowed a gold and diamond brooch from my mother. It was pinned on the back of my dress. It caught the light as we were saying our vows.
