Nautical Wedding at Turntide Estate in Chatham, Mass.

Courtney and Brian wed in Chatham, Mass.,  in the early autumn at the shake shingled Turntide Estate. Their elegant nautical theme came to life in every little detail from the bride’s navy Jack Rogers to the cute shark ornament favors to their custom anchor flag. / Images by Kelly Cronin Photography.

From the couple, “Courtney and Brian spend much time at the bride’s parents’ summer home in Chatham and Chatham just so happens to be where the groom’s parents honeymooned years ago! Because of their love for all things nautical and the history that Chatham holds in both their families, they decided Chatham would be the perfect place to tie the knot! Courtney and Brian were looking for a private residence in Chatham to express their originality. Turntide proved to be the perfect venue for their Old Cape Cod seaside elegance theme and style.

I went dress shopping with my mom ‘just to look’ and I ended up buying the first dress that my mom pulled off the rack. I have always trusted her classic style and taste and I fell in love with it the second I put it on. It was just what I had envisioned for the nautical elegance of Turntide.

Our favorite memory of the day was our first look. It was such a surreal moment together as we couldn’t believe our dream day had finally come! It was picture perfect! It was truly a moment we will never forget.

Courtney and Brian chose to begin their ceremony with a whiskey toast (Slainte!) with our guests to signify our engagement on the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. We used a rope to ‘tie the knot’ during our handfasting ceremony. The rope was kept in a keepsafe box that was handmade by the groom’s godfather which is where our ‘tied knot’ is now stored.

Courtney & Brian’s Love Story | On their first date, Courtney had that funny feeling Brian was ‘The One’ the moment she laid eyes on him. Courtney was taken back by his chivalry and charm and Brian was drawn to her energy, boldness and attitude. They have been inseparable ever since!

Advice? Courtney says, “Enjoy and relax! Take in every moment together because it goes by so fast!” Brian says, “Rob a bank!”

The couple honeymooned in Napa & Sonoma, San Francisco, Maui & Kauai.
