DIY | Married Monogrammed Drinking Glasses

Editor’s Note: This post is sponsored by Cricut. I was sent a Cricut Explore Air machine and was paid to create this tutorial. This post also contains some affiliate links which means that if you click on a link and purchase the product, I’ll receive a small commission.

I am thrilled to be sharing another custom Cricut tutorial with you today! As I previously mentioned, I’ve teamed up with Cricut to celebrate their Wedding Campaign, “It’s Your Story, Make It Personal” and to share with you how fun it is to incorporate Cricut crafting in your wedding planning (plus some amazing weekly contest prizes to celebrate the campaign! Details on this week’s contest can be found at the bottom of this post.)

If you missed my first post with Cricut and you’re not familiar, Cricut is a personal electronic cutting machine that makes crafting incredibly easy and way more fun! I’ve really enjoyed learning about and using the Cricut this summer and I’m honestly amazed at the versatility of this machine – you can do SO much with it and it’s beyond perfect for wedding crafting. I wanted to show you an example of a preppy craft you could create that’s perfect for celebrating your marriage AFTER the wedding so I created a pretty married monogram with a custom Greek border that is just the right size to apply to drinking glasses. Obviously, you could play with the sizing and attach this design to anything – I personally love the idea of applying it to a special bottle of champs to celebrate your anniversary! Below is the step-by-step guide for re-creating this craft – I hope you enjoy!

Materials:

Cricut Explore Air
Cricut adhesive foil in stainless copper
Cricut vinyl transfer tape
Weeding and spatula tools
– Drinking glasses

Note: Just an FYI that vinyl is not dishwasher safe so you’ll want to be careful and hand wash the glasses after you apply the design. 😉

Settings:

Mat: Standard grip
Blade: Regular
Setting: Vinyl

Directions:

1 | I designed the Greek Key styled border for this tutorial and you can grab it for your own use by clicking the link below:

After you click the link, just right-click on the image of the border to save to your computer. Next, upload the border to your Cricut Design Space account. Customize it by adding your own text initials for your married monogram – I used the Cricut font, Elizabeth, to make mine, and I think it worked really well! Once you have all the elements in place, simply press “Go.”

DSC_10852 | After the Cricut has cut out your designs, peel the layer of foil back and discard the scrap foil. Then use your weeding tool to remove the remaining pieces that aren’t part of the design (shown above).DSC_10893 | Next, apply the Cricut transfer tape on top of each design element. Cut to size and then use the spatula tool to rub the transfer tape down and get rid of any air bubbles.

4 | Carefully peel the transfer tape back, making sure that the lettering comes with it and then apply the transfer tape to the drinking glass (or whatever you’d like!):DSC_10905 | Repeat the process for the other elements until everything has been applied:DSC_10956 | And voila! You have a custom monogrammed drinking glass! That’s something to toast to! 🙂DSC_1113 DSC_1144DSC_1187DSC_1120I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you decide to use my free design in a craft of your own, I hope you’ll tell me!
