Emily and Mark had a beautiful summer wedding at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine. The couple wanted their guests to experience the beauty of Maine’s coastline and because Emily grew up in southern Maine, it was hard for her to imagine getting married anywhere else. So many heartfelt details were included in this wedding including a monogrammed “something blue” patch on Emily’s wedding dress and adorable New England-themed lobster lollipop escort cards. / Images by Mat & Ash Photography.
Tell us about the moment you found your wedding dress. How did you know it was the one? My best friends cried and I could not stop smiling. With all of the emotions in the room, I knew it was the one!
Says Emily, “Our favorite memories of the day were seeing all of our friends and family after the ceremony and enjoying cocktails with them on the lawn, and enjoying the beautiful weather and ceremony with our favorite people in the world! We also got a chance to sneak away and get pictures around sunset, it was nice to get away from the craziness for a few minutes and appreciate our beautiful wedding day! Emily & Mark’s Love Story | We met at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. We were actually in the same Business class freshman year and became great friends. It was until senior year (when he was finally single) that our friendship turned into something more. We were great friends that turned into soul mates.
Emily leaves us with some advice: “For your wedding, make sure you do what’s most important to you and your significant other. Don’t try to please everyone else, or do what you think others want you to do, you need to make choices based on what will make you both happy!”
