Today’s Marie Antoinette styled shoot is sure to brighten your day! Brigitta of La Boutique Nostalgie, a vintage event design, floral and planning firm, teamed up with Heidi, of BizzyBee Photography, to create this lavish French-inspired shoot. They chose to shoot at Nazareth Hall in the countryside of Northwest Ohio. The hall was built in 1927 and was originally a military boys school but was later converted to a wedding venue (complete with a gorgeous ballroom). I love that the team brought in some ballerinas for the shoot, as well – icing on the cake! 😉
Says Brigitta, “Our shoot mostly took place in the Cadet West ballroom, which features gold detailing, stained glass windows, large columns and lots of natural light. This shoot came about after conversation between myself and Heidi. We were discussing that while we love the modern industrial look that is popular right now, we were craving a wedding that showcased a sort of return to femininity and classic styling.
We drew lots of inspiration from Marie Antoinette and Versailles. Our team of vendors sought to highlight the femininity and lusciousness of the era, but in a way that would be accessible to contemporary couples.
Our team also drew inspiration from our gardens, springtime and impressionist painters like Degas. We chose blush or taupe wedding gowns to further amp up the femininity of the shoot and made sure to weave in plenty of pastels and cream colors. Lush flowers like peonies, delphinium and garden roses and plenty of gold and ivory decor were also essential to the shoot’s classic and romantic feel.
Of course, any Versailles-inspired shoot would be incomplete without a plethora of delicious and delicate desserts to choose from. Cakes, tarts and pastel macarons added fun and frivolity to the photos.”
