Honeymoon Travel Guide: Pompeii & Capri

Entry No. 22 / Pompeii, Sorrento + Capri

P1000603Have you been following along with my cruise re-cap? If not, and you’re interested, you can catch up here

T&I found ourselves exploring Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri on our last day of the cruise. We started the morning off in Pompeii with a guided tour and I couldn’t believe we were looking at actual preserved bodies salvaged from the ancient volcanic eruption. It’s hard to imagine the fear and emotions that were running through these peoples’ minds but actually seeing a glimpse of what they went through was very powerful and very sad.

P1000601 P1000622… And guess what? Remember when I mentioned ‘meeting’ reality star Matt Nordgren in this post? Well, Matt and his family were on this last excursion with us so T&I captured a few secret {… or not so secret} shots. T was even asked by Matt’s mom to take a photo of the whole fam, haha. During our group lunch in Sorrento, Matt pulled out his laptop, ignoring the food for the most part, and bouncing between his e-mail and seemingly countless shirtless photos of himself … needless to say, he had most every female {and several husbands} craning their necks with raised eyebrows and lots of stifled giggles. It was a little strange. Later, while waiting to board the boat to Capri, Matt was accosted by a group of college girls gushing over him and asking questions about the reality show he was currently filming. hehe.

The water was such a beautiful mixture of blues and greens … I wouldn’t have been surprised if a mermaid’s tail surfaced. We spent the afternoon exploring Capri … definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited …
